The City of Atlanta requested Design/Build Services for the new Emergency Management System (EMS) Station #37, located at 3415 Campbellton Road SW in Atlanta, GA, from our joint venture team of Johnson-Laux-SKYLINE, Atlanta JOC Contractors. The EMS Station #37 will operate under specific hours and staffed by a 12-hour shift operation.
The EMS Station #37 building will house 2 Bay stations holding one (1) fire truck and one (1) smaller bay for emergency/ambulance type vehicle. It will also provide residential/dormitory, business, and storage areas of the building and parking on the site. The building will consist of apparatus bays, multipurpose, medical and EMS storage rooms, dayroom, shop room, laundry facility, circulation, office, restrooms and, lobby areas with mechanical/electrical room. The building and site will include:
• Dormitory/sleeping area will include lockers, restrooms with shower, and accommodate four (4) people;
• Office space will contain space for 2 desks and also containing gender neutral toilet area;
• Dayroom will include small kitchen/break area with a refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave;
• Apparatus areas will include gear lockers;
• IT room/closet; and,
• Site work including:
o Four (4) parking spaces for firefighter and EMS personnel that is secured by motorized gate and fencing
o Additional parking for visitors – 1 for ADA and 1 space for future events
o Emergency backup generator for entire building
SKYLINE Engineering and Construction, LLC (in a joint venture with Johnson Laux Construction) will also oversee civil/site construction services for the design/build project.
