DeKalb County Division of Watershed Management (DWM) requested emergency reconstruction services at Beech Drive, Celia Way, and a portion of Memorial Drive. Work entailed repairs to the road bed, manhole rehabilitation, construction of a new 8-inch waterline, raised granite curbing, pavement restoration, and timely coordination with the residents and DWM officials. Earlier, a 6-inch asbestos cement (AC) waterline ruptured and eroded the roadway damaging the structural integrity of the streets.
SKYLINE’s responsibilities consisted of construction management and construction engineering and inspection (CE&I) services for the reconstruction of infrastructure of Beech Drive, Celia Way, and Memorial Drive. Repairs were made to the road bed, manhole rehabilitation, construction of a new 8-inch water line, raised subsided granite curbing sections, and pavement restoration.
SKYLINE provided construction management and CE&I inspection services for the mobilization, utility locate (2,500 LF), manhole rehabilitation (76 LF), raise granite curbing (2,600 LF), installation of 8-inch water main (1,300 LF) and sewer laterals (1,000 LF), traffic controls, erosion control BMPs, milling and paving to stabilize Beech Drive, Celia Way, and Memorial Drive (3,500 SY).
In addition, SKYLINE reviewed monthly draw requests, tracking project changes, material delivery to the site and hauling from the site, monthly reports, and change order requests by subcontractors prior to approval by DWM.
SKYLINE also oversaw quality control by coordinating testing of concrete, soils, asphalt; and construction observation and field corrections.
