The City of Dunwoody requested the services of SKYLINE Engineering & Construction, LLC (SKYLINE) to perform design road widening to accommodate for safe pedestrian crossing access from Riverglenn Street to Brook Run Park along North Peachtree Road.
SKYLINE provided civil engineering services that included roadway widening, vehicular lane transitions, pedestrian crossing, signage, the installation of erosion control measures, clear & grading, grassing and landscaping.
SKYLINE provided drawings with proposed improvements that included: the island’s length set by checking the turning movements to ensure that fire trucks and buses could turn onto Barclay and Riverglenn from Peachtree without hitting the island and to ensure a pedestrian safety by a proposed island and crossing.
Design parameters included pedestrian crossing 8’ wide path through the island, 4’ bike lane in both directions with 11’ travel lanes from edge of the gutter, the travel lane taper with length to width shifted 11:1.
SKYLINE also provided design for erosion, sedimentation and pollution controls, project coordination, and project management.
